An AI photo app can fix lighting, straighten walls, clear clutter and stage empty rooms. It can't fly a drone, take a real twilight photo, capture a 3D tour or film a walkthrough. Those jobs still need a photographer. They're expensive extras: drone photography costs $125 to $295 and twilight photography $150 to $295 on the October 2026 pricing pages we checked.
We checked the photographers' pricing pages and FAA guidance linked below on 24 October 2026. Real Estate Camera is our app. Keep that in mind when weighing up my view of it.
What an app can and can't do

You still need a photographer for real twilight photography at $150 to $295, drone photography at $125 to $295, 3D tours at $99 to $300 and video from about $150, on the pages we checked on 24 October 2026.

Twilight photography
A real twilight photo is taken at dusk with every light on. AI "virtual twilight" adds a sky to a daytime photo. Real Estate Camera doesn't replace skies. A fake sky shows buyers something that wasn't there, and California's AB 723 requires altered photos to be disclosed. Read more in twilight real estate photos.
Drone photography
The FAA's commercial operator page says drones under 55 pounds flown for work must follow Part 107. That includes passing a knowledge test for a Remote Pilot Certificate. Photographers who sell aerial photography, including Estate Photos L.A. and House of Pix, say their pilots hold that licence.
3D tours and video
Matterport and Zillow 3D tours require their own capture process. A phone photo app can't create either. Virtuance lists the tours from $99 and $114 in Atlanta, respectively; Estate Photos L.A. charges $300 for homes up to 2,000 square feet. If a builder wants a tour, book a photographer.
What the app can handle
Interior photos make up most of a property listing. Take them on a phone, then use Enhance in Real Estate Camera for 1 credit per photo, about $0.33 to $0.50. Declutter handles messy rooms and Virtual staging handles empty ones, at 2 credits each. Book a photographer only for the jobs above.

Questions
Can AI create a twilight photo?
Some tools offer virtual twilight, which adds a dusk sky and lit windows to a daytime shot. That changes what buyers see, so it needs to be disclosed in many places. Real Estate Camera doesn't do it. A real twilight shoot costs about $150 to $295 on the pages we checked.
Can I fly a drone for my own property listing?
Flying for work counts as commercial use. The FAA says you need to follow Part 107 rules, which include passing a knowledge test for a Remote Pilot Certificate.
Can a phone app create a 3D tour?
Real Estate Camera can't. Matterport and Zillow 3D tours need their own capture process. Virtuance lists them from $99 and $114 in Atlanta.
What can an AI app do for property listing photos?
Fix exposure and colour, straighten walls, remove clutter and furniture, and stage empty rooms. Real Estate Camera does these for 1 to 4 credits per photo.
Should I still hire a photographer?
For luxury homes, large blocks, views or anything that needs aerial or dusk photography, yes. For a typical unit or first home, a phone and an editing app can often cover it.
