Free AI interior design for realtors: what you actually get

What the free tiers of AI interior design and staging tools give a realtor in October 2026, and the watermarks and limits on each.

Best for

  • Free images you can post with no watermark
  • Testing staging on 2 real rooms

Not for

  • The most free renders: HomeDesigns AI refills 3 credits a day
  • Longer trials: REimagineHome and PhotoUp give 5 credits

How it works

  1. Shoot the room in the app, or pick photos from your phone.
  2. Pick Enhance, Declutter or Stage. Each result takes 20 to 60 seconds.
  3. Compare it with the original and save it. Staged files come labeled.

As of October 2026, RoomsGPT is free with a watermark, HomeDesigns AI gives 3 credits a day, REimagineHome gives 5 credits, Collov gives a 5-image watermarked trial, and Real Estate Camera gives 2 credits with no watermark. For the MLS, watermarks are the catch.

The pricing pages and FAQ linked below were checked on October 24, 2026. Real Estate Camera is our app. Weigh my view of it with that in mind.

The free tiers side by side

Six tools, checked October 24, 2026. RoomsGPT's free plan has a daily cap and a watermark. HomeDesigns AI refills 3 credits every 24 hours. REimagineHome and PhotoUp each give you 5 credits. Collov offers a 5-image trial with a watermark. Real Estate Camera gives you 2 credits without a watermark: the smallest allowance here, but one you can post.

What a free tier is good for

Testing. Run your hardest room through two or three tools and compare. A small dark bedroom or a room with odd angles shows the differences fast. Don't judge a tool on a bright, square living room. They all do those well.

What to check before posting a free image

Before using a free image from these six tools on a listing, check for a watermark or logo. Many MLSs ban branding. Compare the windows, doors, floors and fixtures with the original photo, then add a virtually staged label. Check the tool's terms too. Its free plan must allow commercial use.

  • No watermark or logo. Many MLSs ban branding on listing photos.
  • The room's permanent features match the original: windows, doors, floors, fixtures.
  • A "virtually staged" label, which most MLSs require. See virtual staging MLS rules.
  • Commercial use is allowed by that tool's terms.

Where I'd start

For ideas to show a seller, I'd start with HomeDesigns AI: its 3 credits refill every 24 hours and go furthest over a week. For a listing photo you can post, test a tool with no watermark. Compare paid tools in AI interior design apps for real estate and virtual staging cost per photo. If you're unsure which kind of tool you need, read AI interior design vs virtual staging.

Questions

Is there a free AI interior design tool for real estate?

Several have free tiers. As of October 2026, RoomsGPT has a free plan with a watermark, HomeDesigns AI gives 3 credits every 24 hours, REimagineHome gives 5 credits, Collov offers a 5-image trial with a watermark and Real Estate Camera gives 2 credits.

Can I put a watermarked image on the MLS?

Usually not. Many MLSs ban logos and branding on listing photos, and a tool watermark counts. Check your MLS rules before you post a free-tier image.

Do free AI staging images need a label?

Yes. Free or paid, a virtually staged photo needs a label in most MLSs, and California's AB 723 requires disclosing digitally altered listing photos.

Which free tier is best for one listing?

HomeDesigns AI's daily 3 credits refill, so it's the most you can get over a week for nothing. For a test without a watermark, Real Estate Camera's 2 credits cover one staged room or two enhanced photos.

Can I use free-tier images commercially?

It depends on the tool. RoomsGPT's pricing page allows commercial use on every plan, including free. Read each tool's terms before using a free image in an ad.
